Introduction

The Unlock News Chrome extension (“the Extension”) is designed to let you archive the current page in place via archive.is without collecting any personal data.

Data Collection

The Extension does not collect, send, or store any personal or browsing data. All code runs locally in your browser and only manipulates the page you explicitly choose to archive.

Permissions

• activeTab: Temporarily granted when you click the icon, so the Extension can read the current tab’s URL and inject its cleaning/iframe script.
• scripting and host permissions: Needed to remove unwanted elements, rewrite links, and load archive.is in an iframe across the pages you choose. No remote code is ever executed—only the local script files bundled in the Extension.

Third-Party Content

The only external resource loaded by the Extension is the archive.is submission form inside an iframe. The Extension does not communicate with any other third-party servers.
